This Fall, students enrolled in the Post Baccalaureate Program in Business Management at CBU will embark on a course that seamlessly blends academic theory with practical experience. Over the past 1.5 years, these students from diverse professional backgrounds have already completed courses in Marketing, Strategic Management, Accounting, Human Resources, and Finance, bringing a wealth of insights into this program. Throughout their studies, learners have honed critical skills, including critical thinking, real-time decision-making, strategic thinking, collaboration, teamwork, problem-solving, effective communication, project management, adaptability, and professional business acumen. The primary objective of this course is to offer a hands-on learning experience, enabling students to apply their knowledge to real-world business scenarios. By working on a project that tackles current business challenges, students will further develop their ability to think critically, make informed decisions, and collaborate effectively. This experiential approach is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application, equipping students with the tools needed to thrive in the business world.

Mohawk College

Bring a group of students from the Early Childhood Education program at Mohawk College to be your virtual interns! Students are looking for opportunities to pursue their special interests and passion in a placement experience. In these varied settings, students will engage with children, families, staff, and other professionals. Students will be supported throughout their field placement experience by further enhancing their understanding of Pedagogy for the Early Years with a focus on the four foundations: Belonging, Well-Being, Engagement, and Expression. Students are available for 20-26 hours (unpaid) of placement project time from Wednesday, February 5 to Friday, April 4, 2025 (Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays) in a virtual or in person (Hamilton or area) capacity. Students will not work during the Reading Week scheduled for Feb 17 to Feb 21.

Seneca Polytechnic

Seneca Polytechnic’s Innovation Work-Integrated Learning (InnWIL) program connects a small and medium-sized enterprise (SMEs) with 5 students eager to develop intrapreneurial skills by tackling real-world challenges. These learners bring a strong foundation in problem-solving, research, and project management, along with experience using design and systems thinking methodologies. Five students are connected with an SME who can provide an authentic business challenge and hands-on learning that fosters innovation. SMEs are expected to engage with learners, guide their efforts through a one-on-one, share relevant information, attend the final presentation virtually, and provide constructive feedback via the Riipen platform.

Cambrian College

Our students have the skills to create and manage organizational process change as well as an understanding of how to gather, document, and communicate stakeholder requirements. Students are well suited to recommend and evaluate solutions, provide quality assurance criteria, perform some data modeling and project management. We are looking to create a first-time mentorship opportunity for our students by pairing them with a skilled business analyst at your company who can mentor and support our students through a small project.

My learners are equipped to tackle projects in machine learning and statistical learning, having gained proficiency in Python and R. They have engaged with several hands-on courses covering machine learning, statistical data analysis, SQL and database management, Tableau dashboard creation, data engineering, and big data. I am seeking internship projects that will help them apply their skills as part of their data science master’s program. Please note that learners will register for their internship between May and August 2025. If you wish to start working with them during this period, it would be ideal.

Do you have a programming or GUI challenge you would like to tackle? In this project, students working in teams will use object-oriented approaches to solve Graphical User Interface (GUI) problems. Topics include object-oriented concepts including inheritance, polymorphism, exception handling, graphics and GUI design techniques. Types of projects that students can work on: Projects that require Object-Oriented and Java programming components.

This experience focuses on enhancing workplace communication skills and professionalism through practical application in ESL classroom settings. Learners will apply their knowledge by analyzing teaching situations, developing strategies to solve language learning challenges, and enhancing lesson effectiveness. They will also evaluate the impact of classroom dynamics and teacher behavior on the learning environment. By collaborating with mentors and peers, learners will refine their teaching practices and prepare a professional portfolio, showcasing their ability to adapt and implement effective teaching strategies.
